Вчера, 13 декабря, в своем интервью для журнала TIME Маск сообщил, что криптовалюта Dogecoin – более уместное средство для платежей, нежели Bitcoin. По мнению бизнесмена Dogecoin в разы дешевле и осуществляемые транзакции с ним проходят быстрее нежели с Bitcoin. Также журнал TIME признал Илона Маска человеком года, за его разностороннюю деятельность во многих сферах, начиная от нейробиологии до космической отрасли.
По словам Илона Маска Bitcoin стал активом для сбережения и накопления, поскольку криптоинвесторы не спешат его продавать. Из-за этого первая криптовалюта не слишком неудобна как средство платежа.
В октябре бизнесмен рассказал, что приобрел Dogecoin, Ethereum и Bitcoin из обычного любопытства. А позже объяснил почему, выбрал мем-криптовалюту Dogecoin. Перед ее покупкой Илон Маск много общался с сотрудниками компаний Tesla и SpaceX, и многие оказались инвесторами данной валюты. По словам Маска он считает Dogecoin «народной криптовалютой».
